Research

In this session we had to research any genre with a great opening title sequence, from comedy to horror in both an action film or Tv programme. I decided to do fast and furious as my film genre and inbetweeners as my TV programme. However researching the info, dates and many more about the product of the genre gave an insight in the audience criteria and what the film and programme is about. The reason I picked fast and furious because it had a great sense of action in the opening, as it shows highlights of the film and the characters which are introduced at a action sequence against an enemy. Although Inbetweeners opening sequence is the opposite, it has a sense of comedy involved as the chracters personality is shown jump shot cuts, which makes it comedy material and makes the audience want to watch the programme, anyways the research will help me do my essay and include interesting information which I need.

'Snach' production two

During this session we had to write up many sheets, and create (draw) Snach effect title sequence. Once I created my slide shots with my drawn out images, I knew which shots types to use from mid-shots to close-ups, therefore will give a variety of shot types and use of where to set the scene. As I be getting ready to go out, this was very helpful as it gives a guideline of what to include and therefore my group will follow my instructions on the sheet when we start filming.

character design

In this session we had to design our character for our snap shot film on photoshop, Sacha is dressed up ready to go out and I be wearing leopard print leggins, black heels, crop top and black heels, as you can see. The lipstick on the right is the link shot as Sacha puts on the lipstick but receives a horrid message, therefore throws the lipstick in anger. I enjoyed this session because now i can picture my costume and what type of personality my character will be.

'SNACH' effect title sequence initial ideas

We was introduced to an opening sequence which flowed really well and looked eyecatchy as they used objects which linked to each scene, therefore this made the clip very effective to watch as it looks interesting and conventional with the use of objects involved. We had to plan out an idea which relates towards 'snatch' and work as a team to create an opening sequence with objects linked in, also planned out the character names, clothing, props, locations and camera shots.

Final 'Trapped' Product

L2 GROUP 1 - 'TRAPPED' SHORT FILM from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

Here is the final product of our 'Trapped' footage. I am very pleased with the quality, professional titles, sound tracks and how the scenes flow frequently throughout. The storyline is very believable and clear with a great sense of tension throughout. The characters tones and body languages, builds up the tension and makes the storyline more interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the thrills it gave towards the audiences, as one scene actually makes you jump as the victim is attacked and dragged into the bushes. Personally would of changed the ending though, set the scene in a more creepier area and add a much more dark and isolated scene, with gore involved as well.

Production day 11/12

.
We were nearly done, we just had to upload the stills pictures and adjust the video more. Once the images were uploaded, and the short film had been progressed with the use of filters, we were happy to view and watch the full length of our 'Trapped' creation. We was very happy with our project, however we felt that we needed to re-do some of the shots. The shots we wanted to re-do was the title sequence of the running scene and the scene with Mel in it so therefore, i discussed our play and decided to let Mel and Beth go out and re-film the particular part, whilst me and Josh stayed in to do some more editing and research on fonts, which would make our footage seem more eye catchy and interesting, therefore we aimed to progress to a higher level. Once we got the footage of Mel and the running scene, I checked if the footage looked professional and understandable before Mel put the footage on Final cut, but i was happy with the clip, therefore we was able to complete our 'Trapped' short film, with a high quality standard to give in.
